  • Other information that is lawfully obtained as part of an investigation

C. From Website Visitors and Contractors

  • CVs and identification documents
  • Bank details and other information required for contractor payments and administration

Note: We may process “special category data” only where legally permitted, including where necessary for legal claims or reasons of substantial public interest.

3. How We Use Your Data - Legal Basis

We process data under UK GDPR using the following legal grounds:

  1. Contract: To provide investigation services that you have instructed us to carry out.
  2. Legitimate Interest: To conduct investigations, prevent fraud, and protect our clients’ legal rights. This is our primary legal basis for OSINT and surveillance activities.
  3. Legal Obligation: To comply with HMRC requirements, anti-money laundering (AML) obligations, court orders, and other applicable legal requirements.
  4. Consent: For marketing communications and, where applicable, non-essential website cookies. You may withdraw your consent at any time.

4. How We Obtain Data

We obtain personal data directly from you, from publicly available sources, and from third parties as part of an investigation.

We do not hack, breach, or otherwise obtain data unlawfully. All surveillance activities are conducted in accordance with applicable UK law and data protection requirements.

5. Who We Share Data With

We may share personal data with::

  • Our Clients: As part of the investigation report or services you have commissioned
  • Legal/Insurance Professionals: Including solicitors, barristers, and insurers where appropriate
  • Law Enforcement Authorities: Where required by law, court order, or where necessary to prevent or detect crime
  • Service Providers – Including IT, accounting, and cloud storage providers. Where appropriate, these providers are subject to confidentiality and data protection obligations
  • Contractors – Vetted freelance investigators who are bound by strict confidentiality and data protection agreements

We do not sell your personal data.

6. International Transfers

Where we use contractors or service providers outside the UK, for example in the Philippines, personal data will be transferred in accordance with applicable UK GDPR requirements.

Where required, appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA), the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or other lawful transfer mechanisms will be used, together with appropriate confidentiality agreements.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, subject to legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Client case files: 7 years after case closure for legal, regulatory, and insurance purposes
  • Website data: 26 months
  • Contractor data: 6 years after the last payment where required for HMRC and tax purposes

You may request the deletion of your personal data. However, we may be required to retain certain information where there is a legal or regulatory obligation to do so.
